Fuzzy-based Intra-piconet Scheduling in Bluetooth

We study scheduling in Bluetooth piconets. A good scheduling method should use the limited resources efficiently and fairly. A novel scheduling scheme based on fuzzy logic is proposed. It dynamically adjusts resource allocation to each master-slave pair based on the traffic characteristics. The proposed algorithm is compared with the Pure Round Robin (PRR) and Exhaustive Round Robin (ERR) schemes. Numerical results showing packet delays at different loads are presented. The results show that our approach gives better performance than the PRR scheme. Additionally, the performance of the proposed algorithm is comparable with the performance of the ERR scheme.
